Our Story

We’re three free-spirited individuals rooted in shared experiences, mutual trust, respect and admiration for each other both from a personal and professional perspective. Through our vast work experiences, combined talents and creative core, we deliver an excitingly distinctive, naturally produced product of superior quality.

About 25 years ago George Salg, our master sugarmaker, located and purchased a beautiful piece of property in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains near the historic town of St. Albans. The property has been a sugar bush for over a hundred years and contains 200+ acres of beautiful old-growth sugar maples. Old-timers in the area call them “Rock Maples” and the maples surround the pond on the property which the family calls “Snowshoe Pond”.

George has been sugaring with friends and family since childhood and has spent years perfecting his craft. In 2014, George teamed up with long-time friends and fellow maple enthusiasts, Dennis Phillips and Janet Brookbank to launch a retail business designed to package and preserve George’s delicious syrup and bring it directly to your table.
