Try our original recipe of maple rice krispie treats. A delicious twist on an old classic!
5 c. crisp rice cereal
¾ c. maple syrup
3 c. marshmallows
3 tbsp butter
Put Maple syrup and butter into a medium sauce pan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, mixing occasionally.
Turn down to low head and add the marshmallows. Stir until all the marshmallows have melted completely, and then pour in the crisp rice cereal. Stir until all the cereal has been coated with the marshmallow mixture. Make sure to get all of the marshmallow mixture from the bottom of the pan.
Pour the mixture into an 8×8 pan. Spray your hands with cooking spray and press the mixture down into the pan (the mixture will stick to your hands if you don’t spray them with cooking spray).
Let the treats fully cool, or place in the refrigerator until they are fully cooled before cutting into squares.
If you have granulated maple sugar, try sprinkling some on top for a more intense maple flavor!
